Apple did refund me for the cost of replacing the battery, but not the logic board, which I paid around $500 to have replaced. I called Apple and complained that if they had done the diagnosis right the first time, I would not be paying all of this money to the third-party retailer. A new diagnosis was made that the logic board needed to be replaced. Because of this I had to bring the computer into an Apple authorized, third-party retailer. Apple also does not allow you to mail in your computer from US territories, since they are considered international destinations by Apple. Unfortunately I could not bring the computer into an Apple store, since the very next day I was moving to a United States territory that does not have any Apple stores. The computer worked fine for about three weeks and then the battery started draining again. I brought it into an Apple store and they replaced the battery, for which I paid $130. Finally in September the problem got so bad that I had the MacBook Pro diagnosed and it was determined that the battery needed to be replaced.
